Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal Cookies

So I recently discovered an allergy to dairy in our little family! This means diving even deeper into our journey with clean eating recipes, substituting good for the not so good and finding family favorites my picky little one will actually eat!

I have been a HUGE skeptic of dairy for a long time! I removed dairy (well about 75%) from my diet a few months back after discovering it was the cause of my acne!! So we have already made a few of the major switches but I still LOVED cheese....

So to start our transition, we decided to make some completely clean-eating DAIRY FREE cookies this afternoon!! Hope you love them as much as me....this pregnant momma ate 4 😂😂

Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

1 Cup Quick Oats
3/4 Cup Quick Oats made into Oat Flour by blending really good (I used this as a flour substitute)
  • 1.5 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan Salt
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 Ripe Banana
  • 3 Tbsp Coconut Oil, melted and cooled to room temp.
  • 1/3 cup Maple Syrup
  • 3 Tbsp Egg Whites (or one large egg)

2 Tbsp Vegan Cream Cheese (yes, it actually tastes like cream cheese and has the same texture!!)
2 Tsp Almond Milk
1 Tsp Stevia
1/4 tsp Vanilla

Directions

1. In a large bowl, mix together oats, oat flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. In a separate bowl, mash banana then add vanilla, egg, maple syrup, and oil.  Once blended, add to the dry mixture and combine together.  Place dough in refrigerator for 30 minutes.

2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray cookie sheet. Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough into your hand and slightly roll into ball, don't handle too much or your hands will warm your dough and it will melt.  Place ball into cookie sheet and press down slightly flat with a fork.
Take 14 cookies. Bake for 13-15 minutes. Cool 15 minutes on a cooling rack.

3. While cooling, Mix together last 4 ingredients in a small bowl. Whip until smooth.  Once cookies are cooled, drizzle the cream cheese into the cookies!

Once you try them, I'd LOVE to hear from you and get your feedback!!  Please comment below this recipe!!!

October Accountability Group

Quite the difference a year can make!  I have been struggling a bit lately with motivation & energy...but I have a REALLY good reminder to help me along the way with my new journey! This pregnancy has been MUCH different than my last! <-- my last pregnancy was full of LONG hours at work,  DQ cheeseburgers, lack of exercise and lots of anxiety!  After Brodilynn I found myself with 40 pounds to lose, no idea where to start, a lifestyle that I wasn't proud of with a new baby girl & someone who would eventually need to look up to me (and what she would find is some serious body image issues!) I knew the end to the vicious cycle needed to stay with ME! I searched high and low for answers, someone to help me and with a bank account that was NOT about to support a gym or personal trainer.

Reality was...I needed support. I needed direction, a community, daily accountability, help in the kitchen, I needed consistency (not something I would do for a week then give up because "why didn't I have abs yet!! "😂

Long story short...this time around will be VERY different! I have learnt the tools I need to keep this body healthy for me and this growing peanut! Both my babies get to have a healthy, happy, confident momma for years to come!

MOST grateful today though, is the opportunity I have to help others find their way just like I have! Through my own journey I am able to take on other beautiful women & give them the gift of self-love and care 😘

I'm beginning to accept a new group of clients for October! I KNOW Summer is hard, but now is the season to prepare yourself for the rest of your life <---because life happens NOW, not when you have some free time or January 1st.
It's doesn't matter where you are in your journey, you just have to promise me a desire to change & grow!

I am taking on 10 new ladies for this month <-- to snag your spot 💌 Drop your email below or email me at kclawrence@live.ca 💌

8 Ways To Drink More Water

1. Track the amount of water you drink.
Every time you drink a glass of water, write it down. You will surprised how LITTLE water your drinking in a day or how long your going without water when you start to track it!
If you are more of a techie person, you can set reminders on your phone .... for those of us who are not, I have included a water tracker for you <3

2. Enhance the flavor of your water.
If your bored of drinking water or do not like the taste, get funky with it! Use recipes as a flavor enhancer in your water. Adding Strawberries, limes, lemons, cucumbers, stevia or other natural flavour enhancers, you can COMPLETELY change the taste of your water!
3. Make drinking water a habit.
First thing you do when you wake up in the AM...drink a BIG glass of water! I keep one right beside my bed so I chug it down before I even get up!  Before meals, drink down another glass (which also helps with your digestion). Use other triggers to drink water (I use washing my hands in the kitchen sink, where I keep a glass by the sink)
4. Use a cute water bottle.
There is something about a cup you actually like using that helps get your water in! I switch up between my favourites and it makes me feel more happy when drinking it!
5. Take water on the go.
Each time you leave the house, grab water to go with you. Challenge yourself to have the water finished before you reach your destination or take a drink at each red traffic light.  Sometimes your away from home shopping or driving for more than 2 hours at a time, thats TOO long to go without water! You will find yourself dehydrated by the time you find more water.
6. Drink a glass of water before every meal.
Heres a tip....often thirst is confused for hunger!! So instead of sneaking in all those extra calories in a day with snacking, try sipping some water first!  A lot of the time it will curb that craving!
7. Use a straw.
It might seem like an odd solution but when you drink through a straw, you will drink more. I think this is probably some kind of mind trick. It might just be the lazy-woman’s way to avoid lifting a glass. But I think when I am drinking water through a straw, I drink more water and faster.
8. Challenge Yourself!
Set a goal for yourself each morning for how much water you will drink throughout the day and reward yourself at the end of the day when you hit it!
